Ontario minimum wages will increase as of October 1, 2025. The increases are as follows:

  • General Minimum Wage: $17.60
  • Student Minimum Wage: $16.60
  • Homeworker Minimum Wage: $19.35

Day rates for hunting, fishing, and wilderness guides are increased to $88.05 per day when working less than five consecutive hours in a day and $176.15 per day when working five or more consecutive hours in a day. A wilderness guide is a person who is employed to guide, teach, or assist people who are engaged in activities in the wilderness including dog-sledding, hiking, rock climbing, survival training, and more.

The liquor server minimum wage was abolished as of January 1, 2022. Liquor servers are now entitled to at least the general minimum wage as noted above.

Annual increases each October are likely to occur. Watch this space as an announcement on minimum wage increases effective as of October 2026 will likely be coming in the first half of that year.
