Ontario minimum wages have increased as of October 1, 2022. The increases are as follows:
- General Minimum Wage: $15.50 up from $15.00 per hour
- Student Minimum Wage: $14.60 up from $14.10 per hour
- Homeworker Minimum Wage: $17.05 up from $16.50 per hour
Day rates for hunting, fishing, and wilderness guides are increased to $77.60 per day when working less than five consecutive hours in a day and $155.25 per day when working five or more consecutive hours in a day.
The liquor sever minimum wage was abolished as of January 1, 2022. Liquor servers are now entitled to at least the general minimum wage as noted above.
Annual increases each October are likely to occur. Watch this space as an announcement on minimum wage increases effective as of October 2023 will likely be scheduled prior to April 2023.
